Text Messaging Privacy Policy

This policy explains how 17457693 Canada Inc., operating as Canada Rocket Company (“Canada Rocket Company,” “we,” “us”), handles personal information in its text message service (the “Service”), through which our employees have one-to-one text conversations using Microsoft Teams. It should be read with the Text Messaging Terms of Use.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile opt-in information, including phone numbers and SMS consent records, with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

1. Who Is Responsible

Canada Rocket Company, based in Ontario, Canada, is responsible for personal information collected through the Service. Our Privacy Officer, Daniel McCombe, is accountable for this policy and can be reached at legal@canadarocketcompany.com.

2. Information We Collect

Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as health or financial information, by text message.

3. How We Use It

We use information provided through the Service only to send your messages, respond to you, keep records of your consent and opt-out, and operate and secure the Service. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or rent it.

4. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We will disclose information only where the law requires it.

5. Where It Is Stored

Messages and opt-in form responses are stored in our Microsoft 365 environment, including Microsoft Forms. That environment may be located outside your province and outside Canada, including in the United States, where information is subject to local law.

6. How Long We Keep It

We keep text messages and consent records for as long as they are needed for the conversation and for our business records, and in line with our Microsoft 365 retention settings and any legal requirement.

7. Security

We protect information with reasonable safeguards and limit access to the employees who need it. Text messages are not encrypted end to end.

8. Your Rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, ask us to delete it where the law allows, or withdraw your consent, by contacting the Privacy Officer. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, in Québec, the Commission d’accès à l’information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

This policy is available in English and in French. Both versions are equally authoritative.
